The Known World Heraldic Symposium for 2018 has closed and by all accounts\u00a0was a smashing success!<\/p>\n

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped make this event possible.<\/p>\n

Inspiration for the bid:
\nElsbeth, who always wanted to have KWHSS held in the Debatable Lands \u2026 we\u00a0made your dream come true.<\/p>\n

Event planning:
\nWu, the event steward for the 2017 KWHSS who provided me with valuable information and advice.\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0 Emma, Juliana, and all those who\u00a0sent me advice and made suggestions.<\/p>\n

Event execution:
\nRaven, my co-event steward, who helped out wherever needed and made the\u00a0totes and name tags happen through excellent recruiting!<\/p>\n

Website:
\nJorundr, he kept up with all my updates and crazy ideas and made them work,\u00a0and made sure I stayed within the policies.\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0 Kameshima.<\/p>\n

Social Media:
\nRachel, who served as my \u201cFacebook Secretary\u201d as I am not on that\u00a0platform.\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0 Elss, who posted to BMDL’s blog and shared the information across Facebook. Thanks also to all those who liked, shared and further\u00a0distributed the information about the event.<\/p>\n

\nBronwyn, tetris master supreme who worked wonders in setting up our class\u00a0schedule given all the constraints (and for handling last minute changes at\u00a0the event).<\/p>\n

Transportation:
\nRobert, who organized a fleet of shuttles to get our attendees from the\u00a0airport, to and from the\u00a0Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0reception, and back to the airport again.\u00a0Supporting cast:\u00a0 Muirgheal, Elsbeth, Alaric, Elss, Hilda, Ceindrech, Gwen,\u00a0Alison.<\/p>\n

Reception:
\nByron and Ariella for opening their home to the heralds and scribes of the\u00a0Known World.\u00a0 The reception was a hit!\u00a0Odriana for organizing the tasty food enjoyed by many.\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0Alastar, Ceindrech, Kieran, Alethea, and Elss.<\/p>\n

Publications:
\nCeindrech for putting together a fantastic event booklet.\u00a0 Supporting\u00a0cast:\u00a0 Gesa, Hilda.<\/p>\n

Hospitality:
\nOdriana for providing tasty snacks\u00a0on Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Sunday<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 Supporting\u00a0cast:\u00a0 Kieran, Alethea, and Alastar.<\/p>\n

Troll:
\nHara for organizing a crew to greet our guests and balancing the troll\u00a0sheets before the event ended!\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0 Ceindrech, Crystal,\u00a0Rivka, Muirgheal, Arthes, and Alister.<\/p>\n

Name Tags:
\nEdana for doing the design and production of the name tags prior to the\u00a0event.\u00a0 They looked fabulous!\u00a0Rivka for doing the production at the event.\u00a0Alaric, Elsbeth, and Hara for loaning their laptops for on-site name tag\u00a0production.<\/p>\n

Quest:
\nMyfanwy, who made a quest so challenging that only one gentle was brave\u00a0enough to turn in their answers.\u00a0 Did you get a chance to see all the\u00a0artwork?\u00a0 It was fabulous!<\/p>\n

Library:
\nRachel for organizing and creating cool bookmarks!\u00a0 Supporting cast:\u00a0Ts\u2019vee\u2019a, Melodia, Ceindrech, Sturrim, and Graidnhe. Plus Alaric, Ceindrech, Dmitrii, Elsbeth, Graidnke, Mariette, Rachel, Rivka, and\u00a0Ts\u2019vee\u2019a for contributing to the library.<\/p>\n

Liaison:
\nElsbeth, who fielded questions from visiting royalty and heralds alike!<\/p>\n

Proceedings:
\nDrauma-Ellisif, who is collecting proceedings for publication.\u00a0 Hint, hint,\u00a0it is still not too late to submit your contributions!

Merchants:
\nCeindrech and Ts\u2019vee\u2019a, who helped arrange for the great set of merchants\u00a0at the event and made sure they had the space to set up for business!<\/p>\n

\nJorundr, Irene, Alastar, and Ts\u2019vee\u2019a for organizing, labeling, and getting\u00a0the projectors to their locations.\u00a0Robert, Jorundr, and Yehuda for making their projectors available for use.<\/p>\n

Scribal Playtime:
\nShirin and Antoinette for providing cool banners to paint!\u00a0 Looking forward\u00a0to seeing them at a future event!<\/p>\n

Commemorative Totes:
\nRaven, who came up with design and arranged for their production.\u00a0Supporting cast:\u00a0 Alicia.<\/p>\n

Court:
\nTheir Excellencies of the Debatable Lands, Brandubh and Hilderun, and Her\u00a0Majesty of Atenvedlt, Ian\u2019ka.<\/p>\n

Performances:
\nThe Debatable Choir and i Genesii.\u00a0 Come and see them at Pennsic\u00a0on Monday\u00a0<\/span><\/span>evening of War Week!<\/p>\n

Field Trip:
\nMary Kay, Senior Librarian at the Hunt Library, for putting together a fine\u00a0collection of books and manuscripts for us to view and learn about.<\/p>\n

Hotel:
\nThe staff at the Pittsburgh Marriott North for welcoming us and helping to\u00a0make our event a success.<\/p>\n

If I missed anyone it is because of my forgetfulness.\u00a0 All your\u00a0contributions were noticed, no matter how big or small.\u00a0 This event\u00a0happened because of all of you!\u00a0And finally, thank you to all who traveled from lands near and far to\u00a0attend.\u00a0 We hope you enjoyed your visit to Aethelmearc and we look forward\u00a0to seeing many of you in Calontir next year and Lochac\u00a0in two years<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n
