Welcome to our Barony!
The Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands ("BMDL") is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism ("SCA"), an international organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The BMDL encompasses Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, including most of the Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area. The Debatable Lands is the oldest and one of the largest baronies in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, the region covering western New York, most of Pennsylvania outside the Harrisburg-Philadelphia corridor, and West Virginia.

Baronial Elections

At the end of court at the Iris Festival in May, Baronessa Violeta and Praetoria Prima announced they plan to retire and are starting the Baronage Selection Process. The nomination meeting was held during the general business meeting at the July 12th Garb Swap, and three pairs of candidates accepted their nominations to be considered for the 10th Baronage of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands. The baronial candidates participated in a meet-and-greet and Q&A session at the Post-Pennsic Social on Saturday, September 5th in North Park. The video of the session is available at the above link.

The counting of the ballots will take place on Sunday, October 18th, starting at 2:00 pm at Buffalo Inn in South Park.
