Welcome to our Barony!
The Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands ("BMDL") is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism ("SCA"), an international organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The BMDL encompasses Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, including most of the Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area. The Debatable Lands is the oldest and one of the largest baronies in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, the region covering western New York, most of Pennsylvania outside the Harrisburg-Philadelphia corridor, and West Virginia.

Baronial Elections
At the end of court at the Iris Festival in May, Baronessa Violeta and Praetoria Prima announced they plan to retire and are starting the Baronage Selection Process. The nomination meeting was held during the general business meeting at the July 12th Garb Swap, and three pairs of candidates accepted their nominations to be considered for the 10th Baronage of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.
We will be having a Meet-and-Greet and Q&A session with the baronage candidates on Saturday, September 5th at the Barony Social (Miller Shelter in North Park) from 12 to 5 pm. (The session will be video-recorded and posted here afterwards).
