Correction: Heavy Weapons Practice 6 May

There was a mistake in the announcement for Heavy Weapons practice for this Sunday.

The muster in King’s Crossing is TOMORROW. The organizer says, “In your GPS or maps use the following address: 667 Floral Hill Drive, Washington PA. This will be a bit to the northwest of the park. Alternatively, you can use the lat/long to take you to the park: 40.170913,-80.177513”

No local practice May 6

Hello,
Since there is a muster in Washington PA this Sunday, May 6 starting at 11, there will not be a local heavy weapons practice this weekend.

Here is some information about the address of the muster from the organizer.

Hello everyone, it was just pointed out to me that the Facebook location for the park wasn’t working. I changed the location to an address that isn’t exactly at the park but it is close. I guess the park doesn’t have an official address, so Facebook was trying to recommend two very different spots.

In your GPS or maps use the following address: 667 Floral Hill Drive, Washington PA. This will be a bit to the northwest of the park. Alternatively, you can use the lat/long to take you to the park: 40.170913,-80.177513

Memorial Day Parade!

Yes, the picture is from the St. Patrick’s Day parade, but we have the same float, redecorated for the holiday!

A missive from our Parade coordinator —

Greeting denizens of the Barony, it is I, your friendly neighborhood mercenary scum. Once again, I am calling for those that wish to support the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands. This time we march in the Lawrenceville Memorial Day Parade.

So come on down and get a little exercise in before you hit the BBQs.

The arrival time is 9:00 a.m. and marching starts at 10:00 a.m. More information to come as we have it.

There is a facebook event created if you’d like to respond there — Lawrenceville Memorial Day Parade Otherwise, please contact Yingerz at ying762 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Brewer’s Guild update

Exciting news for anyone who likes to brew (or drink): the Brewers Guild is up and running again! Lady Alysoun of the Debatable Lands is taking over as Guildmistress, and Lord Ronan O’Conall is her Deputy.

After polling the populace for interest, we have received 15 responses so far from people who would like to be involved in the guild. They range from beginners to experts and hail largely from BMDL, though some are further afield. We have also had great support from the Æthelmearc Brewers Guild, which is pushing out our news to their network as well.

Any and all interested parties are welcome to join the monthly meetings, which will be held at Alysoun’s home in Pleasant Hills. They will take place at 7pm on the first Wednesday of the month, unless otherwise noted.

At the time of this update, we are looking forward to our first meeting, which will be held on May 2 and will serve as a planning session to determine how best to create value for our members and the society at large. Please look for additional updates on the barony blog and on Facebook as we get organized. You can always reach Alysoun here with questions: alisonlsteele@gmail.com

BMDL Brewers Guild – Meeting Schedule Announced

Greetings everyone!
Thank you to those who responded to the Brewers Guild poll. It seems the best time for everyone to meet will be the first Wednesday of the month. It’s a little short notice, but for those of you who are available, we will be having our inaugural meeting on Wednesday, May 2 at 7pm.
Please bring either something you have made or something you like to drink and want to share with the group. We will spend the time planning future meetings and activities for the guild.
I hope you can make it! Please let me know if you plan to be there.
