Fight Practice December 15

Hello,
Fight Practice will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 2 til 6 PM, at the Pittsburgh Chinese, which is at 8711 Old Perry Hwy.  Loaner armor will be available.
We will have a special guest this week. His Majesty Timothy of Arindale is planning to attend and has requested that people come out to fight with him.

Scroll case tower

We sewed some scroll cases, then we sewed some more, then some more, and a few more after that, and then we had a tower. Please view this on Storfrettir if you don’t see the tower of scroll cases.

BMDL 12th Night – Cookie Competition.

From the Master of Cookies,

Once again at Baronial Twelfth Night on January 18th, we will search for the finest bakers of cookies in the Kingdom.

Those who wish to compete should bring a large sampling for the populace and a separate plate of ten cookies to be set aside for judging. All cookies will be open for populace judging throughout the day. Submissions will be accepted starting at 10:00 and judging will begin at 11:00 and continue until 4:00.

This year, pending availability, Their Excellencies, Brandubh and Hilderun, will pick their winners. If the King and Queen of Fools are selected early enough, they too will be judges. Please remember that Maistir Brandubh requires gluten-free selections and there are others in our Barony that have similar restrictions. Should we be joined by any “special guests,” they may be asked to serve.

There will be a populace’s choice as well judged the same way the pie contest was run at last Barony Meeting by dropping beans as votes for the cookie of choice.

Please include a recipe if you wish and any nutritional information to protect our Barony.

Business Meeting Tonight (UPDATES)

The Business Meeting for the Debatable Lands will be TONIGHT Wednesday, 4 December 2019 at the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church (416 W North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 – map. From 8p until 10p.

A gentle reminder that the minutes from the previous meeting should be read prior to arriving at the meeting on Wednesday.

The Officers of the Debatable Lands are elected by the membership and is made up of members of the populace, just like you. The Officers are responsible for ensuring that the policies of the Kingdom and Barony are followed and are accountable to the populace of the Debatable Lands. The Business meeting is open to everyone in the Barony and attendance by the populace is encouraged. Have a thought you’d like to share with the Officers? Special Sewing Circle Scroll case Saturday Dec 7th.

On December 7th, there is a special Saturday scroll case sweatshop. It starts at 10am and will go until 6pm. The location is also 1105 Shady Avenue in Point Breeze. We have lots of cardboard blanks and lots of fabric remnants. You are welcome to bring larger fabric remnants if you have some, about 1/2 yard is the smallest useful size. I will ask that you take home your remants if we don’t use them. The goal is to use up the fabric I already have. Bring a machine or serger if you have one available. The more machines, the easier the assembly line gets. I will be providing bagels, juice, coffee & tea, tables & chairs, cardboard and fabric. You bring the sweat. We want to finish lots of scroll cases for the upcoming Twelfth Night events. Award scrolls need scroll cases. There are two resident cats, so medicate as needed.
