Iris Festival and Equestrian Champs II: Main Schedule

Greetings, beloved populace!

In just a few short weeks, the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands will host our second Iris Festival and Baronial Equestrian Champs!

This year, we are also pleased and proud to host the vigil of our own Honorable Lady Muirgheal inghen Dubhghaill. In addition, we have a packed lineup of amazing activities, classes, and more!

Here is the overall schedule for the day:

9:00 AM – Site Opens
10:30 AM – Morning Court
11:00 AM – Pages’ Tourney: an all-ages mounted game with hobby horses

In person Sewing Sun May 14 at 2pm

Scroll cases needed for Barony and Kingdom. With War Practice and Iris Festival coming up, both kingdom and barony will likely have plenty of scrolls to hand out to worthy nobles. It would be swell if there were scroll cases to protect the scrolls so they can be transported home free of damage. Come sew scroll cases. I have necessary materials, tools, and sewing machines. I need volunteers to come put the scroll cases together. Date: Sunday May 14th, Location: 1105 Shady Ave Pittsburgh, 15232, Time: 2-5pm.

Fencing Practice Cancelled Sunday May 7

The radar shows that it is going to rain all day, so I am going to cancel practice this week.

Practice will resume as normal next week May 14.

There will be no practice Sunday May 21 due to War Practice.

In person sewing Sunday May 7th 2-5pm

In person sewing at my house this Sunday and most every Sunday, except war practice. Sewing is from 2pm to 5pm at 1105 Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, 15232. We really really really need scroll cases. I have plenty of cardboard, fabric, table space, sewing machines and a serger, a power cutter for cardboard and scissors for fabric. This is an urgent call. Iris festival is in 5 weeks and we need scroll cases. Furthermore, so does the kingdom. I’d like to be able to donate some to the kingdom at war practice and possibly at iris festival. You can bring cardboard or fabric, but you must take any unused with you. I’m full here. I will also collect empty scroll cases to return them to the barony. You can also give them to the signet Rachel or the Baron or Baroness.

Although the sewing focus for the next few weeks is scroll cases, if you want help sewing Japanese or something else, please stop by.

Just a reminder, the marathon is this weekend. The route from fight practice to my house should open between 1:30 and 2pm on Sunday.

Though the forecast seems to be against us, I still hope to hold practice on Sunday. I am currently out of town, so I am leaving it up to Sir Bors to make the call for weather. Hope to see folks Sunday.

Greetings Noble Populace,

We are having a budget meeting to discuss the upcoming year and the financial health of the Barony. If you are an officer, deputy, guild leader, or have some other request for funds via the barony for events, guild activities, or other Barony gatherings now is the time to request budgetary input. We will be doing so via ZOOM. [links will be sent out prior to the meeting]

All members of the populace are welcomed to join but only members of the financial committee will have a vote; however we encourage discussion and informed voting.

Archery Today: Starts 11:30am, Sky Stellar Tourney Postponed

Hello Debatable Lands! Salve Accolens!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Archery Practice will begin at 11:30 am today.

Additionally, we’ve decided to postpone the Stellar Tournament, Sky List (Archery) to next Sunday, April 30th.

Your Archery Marshals today will be Yakub and Baron Brandubh. We wish Ronan a speedy recovery.

Armored practice canceled for 4/23/23

After some consideration, I have decided to cancel heavy practice this Sunday. I will not be back from Blackstone Raids in time to collect the loaner gear and run practice. My apologies. See you next week.

The Stellar Tournament series returns with the Sky List this Sunday!

This Sunday, April 23rd from 11am to 2pm, we will once again be holding archery practice at the Highland Park practice site. During this week’s practice we will also see the return of the Stellar Tournament series with the first Sky List of the season!

There will be a qualifier shoot happening from 11am until around 12:30pm and then the tournament will begin shortly after. Join us for a fun day of archery and competition as we determine who will be named the next Vindex Coelorum, the Defender of the Sky!
