Court Report of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands

The report of the Court of Baronessa Violeta and Praetoria Aurelia Argentia Prima, ninth Baronage of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, held on the 25th day of October Anno Societatis LX at Agincourt XVIII, in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, as recorded by Gwendolyn the Graceful, Meistr-y-gân, Comet Pursuivant, with assistance by Lord Turlough Feolain and Oyama-shichi-i Michiharu.

Near the fencing field, Their Excellencies desired to be attended by lærifaðir jǫrundr hinn rotinn. Noting that in addition to his well-known skill in the art of defense, he is equally revered for his wizardry in the kitchen, They were pleased to award him a Lapis Comet. Their Excellencies also wished for The Honorable Lord Meinolf Grimsson to leave the throwing range briefly and attend Them.They spoke to His Lordship of his dedication to the Barony not only on ranges such as the one he was running, but particularly to the Barony encampment at Pennsic, and thus were minded to award him a Gold Comet. Their Excellencies then asked Lord Turlough Feolain to suspend his work as herald in order to present himself before Them, explaining that They really did have a rapier-related award to bestow at this time. Declaring Themselves duly impressed by his successes on the field, They awarded him a Hematite Comet. Scroll by Lady Bran Riddl upon words by Boiarin Godzimir the Golden.

Court suspended.

Later, in the hall, Their Excellencies requested the attendance of Lord Joshua of the Debatable Lands. To acknowledge his talent and skill in thrown weapons, and make all aware of Their approval, They bestowed to him a Hematite Comet. Scroll by Herr Reinhard Regenbogen.

Their Excellencies further desired that Lady Catalina Diez join Them briefly. Speaking to her of her needlework and the artistry displayed in her entry at Ice Dragon, as well as her other pursuit of the arts, They were pleased to award her a Lapis Comet. Court suspended.

In the afternoon, Their Excellencies announced the previous awards given. They then shared that the winner of the Thrown Weapons competition that day was The Honorable Lord Kumagaya Kentarou Masamoto, and the winner of the Archery shoot was Stephen.

Their Excellencies next invited Lutia Vernier Kitzingen and Jay of the Debatable Lands to come forward, whereupon, They signed letters and invited the two to sign the same, claiming them upon their request to be citizens of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands. Matching letters with wording by Magister Owen Tegg and calligraphy and illumination by Magister Casimir Zelený z Strášná skála.

In the same way, Their Excellencies also asked Mistress Renata Rouge, as was her request, to sign along with Their Excellencies a letter declaring her to be a member of the Barony. Letter crafted by Magister Owen Tegg.

In addition to the letters signed in Court, Their Excellencies have also welcomed The Honorable Lady Elsa Taliard as a member of the Barony.

Following this, Their Excellencies required the attendance of The Honorable Lady Lisabetta de Rossi, who excused herself from retaining for Their Majesties to comply. In recognition of the many ways Her Ladyship has served the Barony, from arts and sciences activities and scriptoria, to signet work, assisting at events, retaining, and always being present, pleasant, and helpful, They were well minded to award her an Amber Comet. Their Excellencies thanked event steward Baroness Vika Viborgskaya and all her staff, including the cooks, the marshalls, the MOLs, the registration staff, and all the volunteers, who had assisted in making the day so glorious.

There being no further business, the Court of Their Excellencies was closed.
