The report of the Court of Praetoria Aurelia Argentia Prima and Baronessa Violeta da Valencia, ninth Baronage of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, held on the 3rd day of August Anno Societatis 60 at Pennsic LII, as recorded by Oyama Shichi-i Michiharu, Deputy Pursuivant.
Their Excellencies opened court with minimal fanfare, encouraging those present to continue enjoying the food and companionship. They took a few moments to thank all the people who came together to provide and serve the food, and to appreciate the time spent at Pennsic so far.
Their Excellencies invited Lady Cadence of the Debatable Lands. Though she could not attend the court due to her work helping with the vigil village setup, Their Excellencies proceeded to award her with a Hematite Comet for her skill on the fencing fields. Next Their Excellencies requested the presence of THLady Dorothea Stark Schutze. Much like Lady Cadence before her, she was unable to attend Their Excellencies due to her help with setup. Despite this, Their Excellencies chose to award her a Hematite Comet for her fencing prowess. Their Excellencies then called Lady Diana Clare Chandler. Though she was unable to attend, Their Excellencies chose to read-in a well-earned Amber Comet scroll regardless. Calligraphy and illumination by THLady Gesa von Wellenstein, wordsmithing by Baron Alaric MacConnal.
Next Their Excellences called for Lord Anakitos. Lord Anakitos was unable to attend Their Excellencies, but they decided to award him an Amber Comet anyway. Calligraphy and illumination by THLady Gesa von Wellenstein, wordsmithing by Baron Alaric MacConnal.
Their Excellencies then invited Signore Giovanni Alberici to attend them. They spoke fondly of Giovanni’s copious amounts of service in the kitchen and helping at any opportunity. Given his frequent service to the Barony, Their Excellencies awarded him a Jade Comet. Calligraphy and illumination by Mistress Rachel Dalicieux, wordsmithing by THLord Owen Tegg.
Their Excellencies then called up Lady Isabel de Herrera. They lauded Lady Isabel for her work at Millvale Pride, the St Patrick’s day parade, and at the archery range as a marshal, as well as her work helping with newcomers to the society. With her service in various Baronial activities, Their Excellencies awarded Lady Isabel an Amber Comet. The scroll was calligraphed and wordsmithed by Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh with illumination by Lord Sean O’Connor and Lady Maire ni Cathai O’Connor.
Their Excellencies next requested the attendance of Boyarin Godzimir the Golden, pulling him from behind the serving stations. They remarked on Boyarin Godzimir’s work making arrows and running the archery range, as well as guiding newcomers in the way of the bow. Having considered his work lifting up the archers of the barony, Boyarin Godzimir was awarded an Amber Comet. Illumination by THLord Owen, calligraphy by THLady Lisabetta de Rossi, and wordsmithing by Magister Casimir Zelený z Strášná skála.
Their Excellencies requested the presence of THLady Niamh bean Bhrain ui Labhradha. Their Excellencies spoke kindly of her work autocratting and helping with events, as well as various other supporting actions. As such, Their Excellencies awarded THLady Niamh an Amber Comet. Their Excellencies then insisted upon the presence of THLord Kumagaya Kentarou Masamoto. They spoke of his frequent actions within the Barony, helping with martial activities and entering arts and sciences competitions. As such THLord Kuma was reunited with his Jade Comet scroll having been awarded at a previous event. Scroll by THLord Sasson de Sancta Victoria.
Before he could leave, Their Excellencies proceeded further with THLord Kuma. Their Excellencies spoke of his recent work with kintsugi, as well as his frequent work crafting mead. With that in mind, they awarded him a Lapis Comet. Illumination by Lord Reinhard Regenbogen, calligraphy by Oyama-Shichi-i Michiharu, and wordsmithing by THLord Owen Tegg.
Finally, Their Excellencies asked to speak with Mistress Hara Kikumatsu. They spoke of her constant work throughout many aspects of the Barony. They commented on her hosting sewing circles and the Barony wall-making events, her work as the barony exchequer, and her unceasing patience when teaching and guiding. Given her copious amounts of work across the Barony, Their Excellencies inducted her into the Order of the Copernicus. After many vivats and cheers, Their Excellencies concluded court, thanking the many people who were able to make the Barony social go so well. They excitedly thanked the populace for their attendance, inviting them to stay for the following Kingdom court and to enjoy the rest of the Great Pennsic War.
There being no further business, the Court of Their Excellencies was closed.
