Budgets Due at next Officers Meeting

Exchequer Hara-roku-i Kikumatsu writes:

Greetings to the folks in these Debatable Lands.

April 6th is the next officers meeting and a part of that meeting will be to discuss and vote on the budget for next year. If there are expenses for the barony that should be paid for by the barony, bring a list of items and estimated cost to the budget meeting.

Also, I would ask that you please that same list to exchequer at debatablelands dot org, ahead of time. If I have that list ahead of time, it will help me to prepare for the meeting, and also speed up the meeting.

As a reminder only members of the financial committee can vote on budget items, but the requests and input can be from anyone.

Attention All Archers!

From Mestari Urho Waltterinen

The Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands invites you to a Regional Muster celebrating Archery, Thrown Weapons, Youth Fighting and Arts & Sciences at the Castle home of Their Royal Highnesses of AEthelmearc Byron and Ariella on April 10th. This is the day after Their Coronation. The muster will begin at 10:00 in the morning and continue until 5:00 pm.

The archery and thrown weapons ranges will be open at 10:00 am and archery from the towers, led by THL Deryk Archer, will begin at 1:00 pm.

The main archery goal this day is to shoot and submit rounds for the
Gwyntarian Winter Challenge which closes later that week. There will also be training if we have enough marshals. The Barony’s loaner gear will be available.

Please bring something for a pot luck. We’re going to be there all day, so let’s eat. Pop, water, plates, bowls, and utensils will all be provided.

Their Highnesses have asked that you dress in garb for the day.

The Castle address is 755 Stonegate Drive, Wexford PA 15090.

Letter from the Outgoing Seneschal

Unto the good populace of the Barony, greetings from Master Alaric!

By the time you read this missive my term as Seneschal will have ended and the Barony will be in the capable hands of my successor, Mistress Odriana. It has been a pleasure to represent you as your Seneschal over the past few years. You are the best Barony in the Known World!

I have had the opportunity to learn more about the SCA and to stretch my boundaries. While I can’t list everyone’s name, I would like to especially thank Baroness Alex, THLady Muirgheal, Mistress Cori, and Duke Christopher who served as the regional and kingdom seneschals during my term. Your guidance and sounding boards were much appreciated and valued. To my predecessor, Mistress Hilderun, who set a great example for me to follow. To Baron Liam, Baroness Constance, and all the Officers … thank you for your service and gentle reminders to me when I missed something needed to be done.

And finally my thanks to the populace of the Barony, Canton and College. You guys are great! I am sure you will give my successor the same support that you have given me.

In Service,
Alaric
