Archery Practice Update

Hi all from Niall!

Because of the special gathering in remembrance of Ronan O’Conaill, and our need to use the temporary archery practice location for (hopefully) only one more week, we will once again not be having Sunday archery practice this week. We will have another mid-week practice on Wednesday, October 11th, at the North Park range from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm.

The following Sunday, October 15th, we will resume regular practices at the Washington Blvd. location, at 11:00 am.

Also, stay tuned for news about the next Sky List Stellar Tournament.

Message from the Baronial Signet

Hello everyone. As you may know, I will be stepping down as Baronial Signet along with Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hilda. Our wonderful Nextellencies, Prima and Violets, will be in need of a new Signet.

The Baronial Signet is a Deputy of the Baronage, and is in charge of making sure that scrolls happen for the various Baronial Awards that are awarded at Baronial events. This includes: finding willing illuminators, Calligraphers and wordsmiths to commit to the various award scrolls; collecting said scrolls either ahead of time or at events; assisting their Excellencies during court prep, providing a store of scroll cases for the Barony to be given out with each scroll at court, and encouraging and fostering the Scribes of the Barony by hosting the official Scriptorium either virtually or in person.

Please send a letter of interest to Their Nextellencies Prima and Violeta at baronage@debatablelands.aethelmearc.org by Sunday October 15 2023.

I will be available to help the new Signet transition successfully. I will also be continuing in my position as Region 2 Deputy Signet, so I’ll still be involved in scribally goodness.

The range is located at 852-872 Old Ingomar Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101 – this is near Moon Pavilion in North Park, if you wish to use that as a landmark for your GPS.

Our usual Sunday practice may have been rained out, but some of us still have a hankering for some anchoring (and loosing). As such, we will have a mid-week archery practice tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 27) starting at 4:30 pm at our temporary practice location in North Park. The range is located at 852-872 Old Ingomar Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101 – this is near Moon Pavilion in North Park, if you wish to use that as a landmark for your GPS.

Social and Remembrance for Lord Rónán Ó Conaill

Noble Populace,

Please join us for a Barony Social and a Remembrance of Lord Rónán Ó Conaill, October 8, 2023 starting at 1 pm Est at the Museum Building on Brownsville Rd, South Park Township, PA 15129). [40.303562381306065, -79.99719372940017]

Activities of the day will include a bardic circle, an arts and sciences display with the theme “Passion Project,” the opportunity to sample the wares of our brewers or bring your own favorite libation!

Rattan and Rapier practices will be held in concert with this social. (Please remember its weapons and then libations so that we follow all our combat rules!)

Please bring a dish to share for a Potluck sideboard.

Lord Ronan’s favorite thing to enjoy for with a meal or for a meal was soup! So, if you feel inclined bring your favorite soup to share but more importantly bring your best soup recipes so that we can exchange and share!

As always, the Parks system does not allow glass containers; please plan accordingly!

Weekly Archery Practice Temporarily Relocated

Hi all from Niall!

Our usual space for weekly archery practice is currently infested with goats! Allegheny GoatScape is currently operating in the woods on the hillside where we set our archery targets, and will be there through at least the second week of October. As such, we will not be able to have our usual archery practice there.

But do not fret! We will still have archery practice this Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm. The archery range in North Park is open to the public and provides a nice wide open field for everyone to practice. The range is located at 852-872 Old Ingomar Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101 – this is near Moon Pavilion in North Park, if you wish to use that as a landmark for your GPS.
