Tune up your bow and check your arrows, as we will be hosting the Tournament to choose our new Archery Champion this Sunday July 23 at Archery Practice. Practice runs 11:00 to 2:00. Our Champion Baroness Anastasie has prepared a challenging shoot, so be sure to get there early to practice. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

In order to be the Baronial Champion, you must be a resident of the Debatable Lands, or identify the Debatable Lands as your home group, and you must be able to travel to the 7 Pearls inter-Baronial Championship in the Barony of Thescorre on August 26.

There is the monthly Virtual Sewing Circle, Thursday, July 20th at 7:30 in the kingdom zoom. It is the last one before Pennsic. In person sewing will resume after Pennsic. If you have questions or want the zoom information, email sewing (at) debatablelands (dot) org.

Here is the promised update regarding Sunday’s Social!
Please note; Archery will happen at the usual time & place.
However at North Park; Devils Elbow 1 & 2 shelters we will set up the Social meeting kicking off at 1 pm. (devils elbow 1 and 2 north park allison park pa)

Garb Swap – please consider donating your gently loved garb, books, fabric, or other SCA miscellanea to gift to our newcomers; once they have had the opportunity to check things over; we will open the swap to all arrivals!

Bling your garb/ fabric – Æthelmearc Populace Badge block print your fabric / garb in either Black or White Fabric Ink. You bring the fabric; the ink and a roller will be provided. If you have block print stamps to share; feel free to bring them along! [Please note that this take 24 hours to dry to the touch and 7 days to cure before you can wash it/dry it. Do not plan to wear or fold the fabric for at least 3 full days!]

2 pm – Rapier & Rattan Practice

3 pm – Baronial Heavy Weapons Champions – The preferred format will be double elimination, but that may change depending on the number of fighters. Anyone may fight in the Tourney, however to be considered for Baronial Champion, you must reside in the Barony-Marche, be willing to represent the Barony-Marche at 7 Pearls, and have attended at least three baronial fighter practices within the past year.

Our sincerest thanks to our outgoing fencing champion Master Cyrus Augur for his service this past year as our fencing champion. Today we hosted the tournament to select his successor, and have selected Don Robert MacEwin of Thornhill as our next Baronial Fencing Champion. Don Jorundr hinn rotinn has agreed to stand as his second. Don Robert also earned coin number 6 to the Garnet and Steel tournament.

Congratulations to Don Robert on his victory today!

Hello Debatable Lands! Salve Accolens!

Take some time at Pennsic to relax with friends, and enjoy two (count ’em, two!) Courts and see your friends be recogonized for your contributions!

Features the elevation to Master of Defense of our our very own Fencing Marshal, Don jorundr, plus other fun items at both Baronial and Kingdom courts!

And don’t forget the triumphant return of the very popular walking tacos, by Lord Niall and friends!

Meet at Aethelmearc Royal (Block N04) at the Pennsic War, from 2pm to 5pm, Middle Sunday, August 6th.

Schedule:

– 1pm – Set-up (volunteers welcome!)
– 2pm – PARTY BEGINS!
~2:15 – Baronial Court
~3pm (ish) -Refreshments! Light supper (walking tacos, fruit/veg, drinks, sweet goodies)
~4 or 4:30pm – The King and Queen have business! Stick around!
– After Kingdom Court – tear down (please help if possible)
